Steampunk Fashion is a unique form of cosplay focusing on a Victorian era steam-powered, blend of science and fantasy. Come and experience AVCon’s premier Steampunk Fashion parade, brought to you by Dynamic Creations (the people who brought you the amazing “Steampunk Ball ~ the Maiden flight of the Olympia” at the 2010 Adelaide Fringe).

It’s that time of year again, AVCon is just around the corner and we are happy to say that the Lolita Fashion Events are back again by popular demand!
This year is a little bit different and we are taking the Parade to a full blown fashion show and we are now taking auditions for you to star in it! We are also looking for two Lolita’s to greet the audience as they come through the doors, so if you do not get into the show itself, you may still be able to be part of the event. (See Below!)
We are looking for Lolita’s and FRUiTs fashionistas with stage presence, personality, confidence and great fashion sense! Have skills at sewing? Maybe show off those skills by sending in your own designs and models.
All you need to do is fill out an entry including a photo of yourself in the whole outfit that you plan to wear. Entries will be accepted up until 16th July 2010, places are limited so please get your entries in soon because any entries received after that date will not be accepted. Once you have completed the entry form(s) please send, along with your photo to lolitafashionparade@gmail.com .
Those who make it to the short list will be contacted during the week and will be required to come to a rehearsal (not requiring outfit except the shoes you will be wearing for the show) on Friday 23rd July at the convention centre after work and school hours.
So don’t hesitate to get in your entry form in order to be a star on stage!
Entry Requirements:
• Participants must have their own ticket in to AVCon in order to participate in the fashion show as tickets will not be provided
• People who do not have tickets will not be allowed into the convention and therefore not in the fashion show
• Participants must be available for the Fashion Parade event at the time and date requested
• Participants must fill out the entry, complete with photo of your chosen outfit otherwise your entry will not be accepted
• Participants must have a complete outfit for the Parade and must show so in photo
• Changes to participants parade outfit from their photo will not be acceptable on the day
• Successful participants must attend the rehearsal on the 23rd of July
• Participants will be required to be at the meeting place at the allocated time given, on the day
• Participants will be required to sign in with the backstage manager and once signed in must not leave the allocated area until the event has finished
• Participants under the age of 18 must have returned their signed permission slip to the organiser by the closing date otherwise they will not be allowed to take part (must be in hard copy form, see form for more details)
