AVCon's Tournament Stage

This year, the AVCon website is your tournament gateway, hosting everything you need to know about each and every tournament. You will be able to read up on rules for the tournament you're interested in, which will be available with open discussion on our forum!

Returning to AVCon in 2010 once again, the PC and LAN gaming room will be in a new hall to cope with increasing interest.

PC/LAN Tournaments

This year we'll be continuing our run of PC LAN tournaments in collaboration with StreetGeek. Below you will find the tournaments we are looking to hold this year:

Team Fortress 2

Saturday 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Rating: MA15+

Dust off your hats, it’s time to pull out the mini-crits and battle to be the best team. We are glad to bring back Team Fortress 2 for its second year. The big question is whether we can beat the huge number of Cosplayers from last year.

Saturday 11:00am to 2:00pm
Rating: M15+

Ready for a Zerg rush? StarCraft is back in anticipation for the sequel being released in the coming months. Sending hundreds of minions to their deaths in pursuit of ultimate victory, what's not to like?

Rating: MA15+

Zombies in a forest? It’s more likely than you think. The update to 2008’s biggest zombie apocalypse is ready to survive AVCon.

Do you have what it takes to command the scourge or the sentinel in this popular Warcraft 3 mod? Defense of the Ancients will be making a welcomed return this year.

The classic deathmatch juggernaut is back to spray nails and rails. Q3A will be making an appearance in the LAN area this year to prove that it's here to stay.

Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists will be lurking round the woods this year. Do you have the skills to work with your team and a plan of attack?

Other notes

  • All tournaments are free to enter.
  • There may be delays and time extensions with tournaments on the day.
  • All times are accurate to the date of posting. Any changes or updates to these times will be posted as they happen.
  • PC LAN Tournament registration will be open through out the day at the PC LAN area and will close for each tournament as the final matches of the first rounds are wrapping up. With the exception of tournaments starting at the beginning of the day. Early tournaments will have registration open once doors open. Please refer to the map within the booklet included in the AVCon show bag on the day in regards to the location of the PC LAN area and if you're lost, come chat to us at the Tournaments Registration booth where we can help you get to where you need to be.
  • Team-based tournaments will have a singles pool for matchmaking players who don't have a pre-made team.
  • All LAN PCs are pre-provided, we do not accept personal computers or laptops due to safety requirements.
  • This area is an MA15+, due to the graphic nature of the games in this area, an age check will be in place.
