We want YOU to enter into the Kimono Katwalk Parade!

Thats right! It's that time again! AVCon's one and only Fashion Parade and Competition!
All you need to do is jump into your favourite J fashion and parade your sensational style on stage!

THERE ARE PRIZES TO BE WON!

Choose from our four fabulous categories:

EGA – For those who prefer a more mature look, but with the awesomeness of Lolita mixed in!

Lolita – Show off your elegance with cuteness!

Decora – Crazy colours, outrages hair and accessories accessories accessories!

Kimono Inspired – We want to see your own twist on the traditional Kimono style!

All YOU need to do is simply decide WHICH fashion style to choose from and send us your application to kimonokatwalk@avcon.org.au with the following details:

Your Name
Fashion style (if lolita, please include your sub-style, ie: Sweet Lolita, Country Lolita, Punk Lolita, etc.)

It's so simple , you're basically half way there!

Registration closes on 24th July 09, so make sure you get yours in otherwise you will miss out!

Once you have sent your application, you will recieve a confirmation email within a few days. If you have not recieved one within two weeks, please resubmit or contact me on here if you are having any problems.

The Fashion Parade/Competition will be on Saturday the 25th July starting at 10:30am. Applicants are asked to be at the location at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the event. If late, you might be disqualified from the competition (but will be able to go up on stage and show off your outfit anyway). This is to keep things running smoothly.

Three long-time lolitas talk frills, bows, petticoats and parasols. The first half will cater to beginners with coverage of basic sub-styles, fashion elements and coordination, while the second half will provide hints, tips, and a chance to ask questions for more experienced lolitas.

For you awesome people who WANT to participate but aren't quite sure what the styles are, here is some info:

Lolita: Lolita is a street fashion that spawns from japan, following the concepts of old-world modesty and femininity, elegance, quality and luxury. It is inspired by the style of Victorian childrens fashion (Below the knee length skirts) and also incorporates bits and pieces from rococo, regency, edwardian and even the fifties. Decora: Decora is the colorful, accessorised, and coordinated style found in Harajuku in the late 90s, in the FRUiTS book, and now making a major comeback in Japan. A bit more information can be found at the livejournal Decora Community here.

EGA: Elegant Gothic Aristocrat (EGA) is a more mature look and is generally more like modern goth, but incorporates some of the aspects of cuteness from Lolita. The style imitates the mature decadence of the late Victorian era, with emphasis on simplicity and elegance. It is an androgynous style consisting of black and white, dark colours and natural tones with delicate detailing, lace trimmings, which is completed with black, clunky boots. Kimono: The Kimono style can be any creation of yours that incorporates a Kimono theme, such as kimono material, wa-lolita, traditional Yukatas & Kimonos etc. This is the catagory to Have fun with !!

No -real- cats will be harmed in the production of avcon... some lolitas -may- fall down some steps however.
