Cosplay is one of the best parts of AVCon. From first-time closet cosplays to detailed armour, handmade gowns, wigs, props and full performance builds, Cosplay Corner is where the AVCon cosplay community comes together.
Cosplay Corner is the home base for all things cosplay at AVCon 2026. Visit across the weekend for competition information, parade sign-ups, photo walls, cosplay displays, change rooms, workshops, panels and community moments made for cosplayers, photographers, fans and curious first-timers.
You do not need to be in cosplay to enjoy Cosplay Corner. Come admire the craftsmanship, cheer from the crowd, take photos with permission, meet other fans, and celebrate the creativity that brings AVCon to life.
Watch the AVCon Cosplay Competition
The AVCon Cosplay Competition is one of the big cosplay highlights of the weekend, celebrating craftsmanship, character, stage presence and creativity.
Come watch cosplayers step onto the stage and show the work behind their costumes, from detailed sewing and prop work to armour builds, wigs, makeup and skit performances. Whether you are a long-time maker, a casual fan, or completely new to cosplay, this is a great way to see the talent and passion of the AVCon community up close.
The competition includes crafting divisions for Beginner, Intermediate and Masters entrants, plus a Skit division for solo and group performances. There are also separate competition streams for under 15 and 15 and over entrants, supporting age-appropriate participation and judging.
Cosplay Competition entries are pre-registration only. If you are attending as a spectator, check the AVCon schedule and arrive early so you do not miss the show.
Watch the International Cosplay League Selection Round
AVCon will host the first Australian preliminary round of the International Cosplay League at AVCon 2026!
This selection round will choose a solo entrant and a duo to represent Team Australia on the grand final stage in Madrid. Expect high-level craftsmanship, performance, character work and stage presentation from experienced competitors bringing their best to the AVCon Main Stage Presented by JP Light and Sound.
Applications have now closed, but attendees can still come along, watch the performances and cheer on the cosplayers competing for a place on the international stage!

Stop by Cosplay Corner and meet the talented judges helping bring AVCon’s cosplay competitions to life!
Across the weekend, attendees can meet and chat with BalanceBringerCosplay, Greenthedestroyer, Miss Twisted, Vamprea, Vye, and Zalariacos. Whether you are entering a competition, working on your first cosplay, or just love seeing how costumes come together, this is a great chance to talk cosplay, ask questions, and learn from experienced makers and performers.

See the Championship Trophies by Illustris Models
Illustris Models are back at AVCon with a brand-new set of championship trophies for the first Australian round of the International Cosplay League, as well as the Beginner, Intermediate and Masters categories of the AVCon Cosplay Competition.
You can find them at Cosplay Corner across the weekend, where they will be showing off 3D printed cosplay props and accessories, selling their own high-quality EVA foam, and chatting with attendees about cosplay builds, materials and making techniques.
Make sure you stop by before each competition to see the trophies up close before they head to the winners!
Get Patched Up by Captain Patch-It
Cosplay crisis? Wardrobe malfunction? Prop trying to retire early?
Captain Patch-It and his crew are bringing their legendary cosplay repair skills to Cosplay Corner, offering free emergency costume and prop fixes right on the convention floor. Armed with a hot glue gun, thread bandolier, adhesives, sewing supplies, googly eyes, and years of convention repair experience, they are ready to help tackle the unexpected.
The Cosplay Repair Station is best for quick fixes, small repairs, loose seams, emergency patch-ups, prop touch-ups, and last-minute saves. Please be patient during busy periods and follow any directions from Captain Patch-It, their team, and AVCon staff.
Join the Sunday Cosplay Parade
Want to step onto the stage without entering a full competition? The AVCon Cosplay Parade is a relaxed, supportive showcase for attendees in costume.
The Cosplay Parade will run on Sunday on the AVCon Main Stage Presented by JP Light and Sound during the intermission of the International Cosplay League selection round.
Sign-ups are on the day using the QR code at the Cosplay Corner registration desk. Places may be limited, so visit Cosplay Corner early on Sunday if you want to take part.
The parade is all about celebrating cosplay at every level, whether your outfit is handmade, bought, altered, casual, detailed, dramatic or just something you were excited to wear to AVCon.
Join the Kids Cosplay Parade
The Kids Cosplay Parade gives younger cosplayers their moment to shine.
The Kids Cosplay Parade will run on Sunday from 12:15 pm at the Outdoor Stage. It is a fun, welcoming parade for kids to show off their costumes in front of an AVCon crowd, without the pressure of a full competition.
Sign-ups are on the day, just head to the Outdoor Stage 15 minutes before hand to sign up!
Bought costumes, handmade costumes and character-inspired outfits are all welcome. The focus is on confidence, fun and giving young fans a chance to enjoy the excitement of cosplay.
Get Photos Taken At The Cosplay Photo Walls
AVCon’s Cosplay Photo Walls are free to access and open to all cosplayers across the weekend!
Use the dedicated backdrops to take photos of your costume, grab a group shot with friends, or capture your latest build in a space designed for cosplay photography. Photographers will be hosting sessions throughout the weekend, giving attendees a chance to get structured cosplay photos without needing to book a private shoot.
Explore The Cosplay Displays
Cosplay Displays showcase a selection of detailed builds from local cosplayers.
This is your chance to see costume construction up close, including fabric work, armour, props, wigs, detailing, finishing, weathering and presentation. It is a great stop for anyone who loves seeing the behind-the-scenes work that goes into cosplay.
Cosplay Change Rooms
Cosplay Change Rooms will be available across the weekend, giving cosplayers a practical place to get ready, reset or change outfits during the day.
They are useful if you are travelling with a bulky costume, carrying armour pieces, changing into a different outfit, fixing a wig, or switching into something more suitable for evening programming.
Each change room area will include mirrors so you can check details, adjust pieces and make final fixes before heading back onto the floor.

Entries will be on display at Cosplay Corner across the weekend, giving attendees a chance to see handmade props, weapons, accessories and display pieces up close. It is a great stop for cosplayers, makers, photographers and anyone who loves the build side of cosplay.
Want to enter your own prop? Entries for the Cosplay Prop Competition are open until Wednesday 1 July 2026 at 11:59 pm Adelaide time. This competition is pre-event entry only. You cannot enter on the day, so get your entry in before the deadline!
