AVCon Opening Ceremony and Quiz Night

Get Ready to Kick-off the AVCon Weekend!

Friday night is AVCon party night!

Alongside Hoshi’s official pre-party, AVCon is also bringing the fun for anyone who prefers a different kind of Friday night, or wants something awesome to do before heading out later.

Join us on Friday 3 July 2026 as the night kicks off at 6:00pm sharp with the official AVCon 2026 Opening Ceremony, featuring the misadventures of AV☆TAR, special guest speakers, and the official opening of the event.

Doors open from 5:30pm, so you are welcome to arrive early, find your seat, and get settled before the Opening Ceremony begins.
Then from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, it is time for one of AVCon’s most loved events: QUIZ NIGHT!

Get ready for 10 rounds of anime and gaming trivia, packed with chaos, competition, and plenty of chances to prove your fandom knowledge. This year, the grand prize is the one and only Shin Tokyo prize box, valued at $2,000!

This is an all-ages event and entry is free for AVCon ticket holders, including Saturday, Sunday, Weekend, and Gold Pass holders. Please bring your AVCon ticket or pass with you, as this event is only available to AVCon ticket holders. Buy your AVCon 2026 ticket here!

Seating is limited to 200 people, so registration is required. Each person attending must register individually for their own free ticket.

Teams can have up to 10 people. Solo attendees and smaller groups are very welcome, and you can join or form a team on the night.

This is an all-ages event for AVCon 2026 ticket holders. This includes Saturday, Sunday, Weekend and Gold Pass holders.

Yes. Entry is free for AVCon 2026 ticket holders, but you must register for a free ticket because seating is limited. Buy your AVCon 2026 ticket over here!

Yes. Each person attending must register individually for their own free ticket. This helps us manage the 200-seat capacity.

Each person must register individually. Teams can still sit and play together on the night, subject to available seating.

Yes. You are welcome to come in cosplay, as long as your outfit and props follow AVCon’s Cosplay and Prop Policy.

No. This Friday night event only includes the Opening Ceremony and Quiz Night. The rest of AVCon will open across Saturday and Sunday.

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Please be mindful of those around you and clean up after yourself.
