Sprite’s Kids Zone
Bringing kids to AVCon? Make Sprite’s Kids Zone one of your first stops.
Sprite’s Kids Zone is an open family activity space inside the AVCon 2026 show floor, filled with free creative activities, games, reading, building, colouring, and kid-friendly fun. It is included with your AVCon ticket, and no separate tickets are required.
Kids aged 12 and under can attend AVCon free with a valid accompanying ticket holder. We also offer concession rates across all day and weekend tickets, and AVCon is part of the official Companion Card program in South Australia.
Whether your child wants to build, draw, play, read, craft, meet Sprite, or take a break from the busier parts of the festival, Sprite’s Kids Zone is designed to give families a welcoming place to slow down and enjoy the day together.

Included with your AVCon ticket, Sprite’s Kids Zone is one of the best places for families to relax, recharge, and enjoy hands-on fun throughout the day. Kids can build with LEGO alongside Brick Buzz, create cardboard masterpieces with Little Adventurers, enjoy free face painting from VanessaVoodoo, explore creative activities with West Torrens Library, make their own polymer clay keyrings with On The Flip Side, and meet Sprite, AVCon’s friendly koala mascot.
Children aged 12 and under receive free entry to AVCon when accompanied by a ticket holding adult, making AVCon one of the best value family events in Adelaide during the July school holidays!
Parents, guardians, and carers remain responsible for supervising children while attending AVCon and participating in Kids Zone activities.

Lego Building With Brick Buzz
Build, stack, create, and imagine with Brick Buzz.
Kids can use colourful bricks to make castles, creatures, vehicles, characters, and whatever else they can dream up. It is hands-on, screen-free fun and a great way to give busy minds and hands something creative to do during the day.
Cardboard Workshop with Little Adventurers
Get crafty with Little Adventurers Art Classes in a hands-on cardboard workshop made for young creators.
Little Adventurers is all about giving kids space to be creative, explore their imagination, and celebrate their own artistic style. Their activities support children to experiment with making, design thinking, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and creative confidence.
This workshop is a great fit for kids who love building, crafting, decorating, and turning simple materials into something they can be proud of and get to take home!
Free Face Painting With VanessaVoodoo
Add some extra colour to your child’s AVCon day with free face painting by VanessaVoodoo.
Kids can choose fun designs to match their outfit, cosplay, favourite characters, or festival mood. Face painting is included with your AVCon ticket, but it may be popular, so please allow time for queues.
West Torrens Library Activities
West Torrens Library is bringing a mix of creative, hands-on, quiet, and playful activities to Sprite’s Kids Zone.
Families can paint their own 3D printed Rhythm Revolution speaker, colour in AVCon-themed and Nintendo-inspired colouring pages, fold origami, make Super Mario papercraft, and sit down for a game of Shogi or Chess.
There will also be a vinyl record listening lounge featuring anime and video game soundtracks, plus a build-your-own dust bunny activity for kids who love small, cute, crafty creatures.
It is a great place to pause, reset, make something, play something, or enjoy a slower moment before heading back into the rest of AVCon.
Polymer Clay Workshop with On The Flip Side
Create your own Pokéball-themed keyring using polymer clay with the friendly team from On The Flip Side.
Participants will shape, assemble, and decorate the different parts of their design before attaching it to a keyring to take home. No experience is needed, and the workshop will guide participants through the activity step by step.
On The Flip Side is an Adelaide group focused on building community through creative events, festivals, gigs, and hands-on workshops that support local artists and welcoming creative spaces.

For the best experience:
- Visit earlier if your child has a must-do activity.
- Allow time for queues, especially for face painting.
- Bring water, snacks, medication, and sensory supports.
- Plan breaks before kids get tired.
- Choose a meeting point in case your group separates.
- Keep children supervised at all times.
- Ask AVCon staff, volunteers, or venue security if you need help.
There is plenty for families to enjoy beyond Sprite’s Kids Zone, including gaming areas, performances, cosplay, Artist Alley, community spaces, guests, panels, and show floor activities.
If this is your child’s first convention, keep the day simple. Choose a few activities, take regular breaks, and leave room to explore. You do not need to see everything to have a great AVCon day.
