After a very successful 2024 start – AVCon’s signature anime and gaming festival for a mature audience returns on Saturday night of AVCon weekend.
From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th, we’re opening up both the Wayville AND Jubilee Pavilions for all the fun of AVCon by day plus:
Nerdy alcoholic beverages | Mature cosplay competition | MA15+ and R18+ anime screenings and video gaming | Lewd artist alley ‘Midnight Lane’ | Fun and saucy panels and workshops | Adult art and fanfic competitions | Lewd tattoos in Inktaku Alley
Plus until 11:00 pm, the main stage spectacular ‘Cirque du Cosplay” makes a return with the amazing Starling Strix and a new and exciting lineup of award-winning burlesque/pole/aerial acts!
Tickets can be purchased in advance through Humantix or at the door on the night of the event. If you’re an existing AVCon 2025 ticketholder, you can grab a $5 discount on your ticket! Please note this is an 18+ event!
Featured AVcon After Dark Content
The entirety of the AVCon floor will open up during AVCon After Dark, and there will be no age restriction, meaning all the bloody gaming, saucy anime, and naughty language will be here and uncensored! Enjoy the AVCon After Dark festival with a selection of alcohol services, including delicious anime and gaming-themed cocktails, which you can enjoy as you check out all our After Dark exclusive content!
Cirque Du Cosplay
Join us from 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm to complete the night with the main stage spectacular ‘Cirque du Cosplay” – returning with the amazing Starling Strix and a new and exciting lineup of award-winning burlesque/pole/aerial acts!
A feast for the senses, Cirque Du Cosplay, will feature a cavalcade of local and interstate acts performing stunningly sexy and comedically captivating routines featuring characters from all your favourite anime and gaming franchises. Burlesque, pole dancing, circus (including fire twirling) and lyrapole acts with some of the most skilled performers Australia has to offer!

Full Alcohol Service
What is an 18+ festival without a few delicious beverages? AVCon After Dark features full alcohol service, including beers, wines and a range of tasty nerdy cocktails! Grab a brew while you play some Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, have a snifter of wine as you watch some cultured anime screenings or indulge in a cocktail or two while watching the amazing performers in Cirque Du Cosplay.
Mature Panels and Workshops
Join us for 18+ panels and workshops that explore mature themes in anime, manga, games, and fandom—with a mix of insight, humour, and just the right amount of spice. Whether it’s late-night debates, creator Q&As, or fan-driven deep dives, this is where things get real (and maybe a little unfiltered).
Midnight Lane and Exhibitors
Artist Alley will be turned into ‘Midnight Lane,’ where our fabulous artists will sell a variety of artworks for only refined adult palates. Get ready for spicy commissions and lewd artwork from our favourite local and interstate artists!
Our Exhibitor area will also stay open up late where you might find some deals on some special goods!
Inktaku Alley
As the sun sets and AVCon After Dark takes over, the InkTaku Alley transforms into a haven for those seeking something a little more risqué. Prepare to be tantalised by a stunning array of NSFW tattoo designs, from lewds to noods, that will be sure to impress your friends and disappoint your parents!
Mature Video Games
The console free-play area will open up to MA15+ and R18+ games, from Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 to DOOM!
Mature console tournaments will also be running all evening long.
The Gaming Stage will open up to a variety of interactive and hilarious hijinks.
AVCon Streamcast Studio – Powered by Twitch will be running all night, so come say hi and check out the spicy games running on screen as they raise money for Game on Cancer!
Our Indie Games Room will stay open, and a variety of IGR devs will showcase their work all night (including more adult-friendly game builds!).
Mature Tabletop Gaming
We will be running adult-only RPGs! Think Vampire: The Masquerade, Call of Cthulhu and more! Our board game library will also remain open during this session, so grab a drink (perhaps sink your fangs into a mortal) and come experience the more adult-rated tabletop area!
Art Zone
The Art Zone will feature more adult-orientated workshops and art classes all night. You can also enter our Adults Only quick draw competition to let your wild side out while winning great prizes! Our Adults Only Fanfic and Pre-drawn competition entries will also be showcased and crowned!

Mature Anime Screenings
Settle in for a night of anime that’s strictly for the grown-ups. From cult classics with mature themes to bold, boundary-pushing stories you won’t catch in daytime programming, our 18+ Anime Screening Room is all about the edgier side of anime. Whether it’s psychological thrillers, dark drama, or late-night fanservice, this is the place to explore the anime that dares to go deeper (and sometimes weirder).
