The AVCon Artist Alley is full of local, interstate and international artists and creators offering a variety of handmade creations for sale, including original artwork, prints, crafts, clothing, books and more!
This year, our Artist Alley will also be turning into ‘Midnight Lane’ for AVCon After Dark, where our fabulous artists will sell a variety of artworks for only refined adult palates. Get ready for spicy commissions and lewd artwork from our favourite local and interstate artists!

Captain Armada is an artist who embraces his passion and dedication on Virtual Youtubers (Also known as Vtubers for short) whether they are well-known, and less-known. He usually loves to watch various streams and clip compilations on these content creators while working on his artworks on a regular basis. His first exposure to Vtubers was from Kizuna Ai back in 2016, but had not yet fallen down the rabbit hole until 2020 from Amano Pikamee (who was formally part of VOMS Project).
Furthermore, with such interest, this had led him to making good use of his artistic abilities by showing his love, and appreciation for their hard work and creative content. Armada strives to
create fan artworks and merchandises to support these Vtubers, as well as providing exposure to a
wider anime, and Vtuber community. Anyone is welcome to say hi to the Captain and have fun
discussions on their favourite Oshi!

Karen J Carlisle (author)
Karen J Carlisle is a writer and illustrator of speculative fiction – Victorian mysteries, steampunk, fantasy, and cosies with a twist.
She first fell in love with science fiction when she saw Doctor Who, as a four-year old. This was reinforced when she saw her first Star Destroyer at twelve. She’s started various other long-term affairs with fantasy fiction, (tabletop) role-playing, gardening, historical re-creation and steampunk – in that order.
Karen has had articles published in Australian Realms Roleplaying Magazine, and short stories featured in the 2016 Adelaide Fringe exhibition, A Trail of Tales, and the Where’s Holmes?, Deadsteam and Sherlock is a Girl’s Name anthologies.
Her current works include: The Aunt Enid Mystery series – cosy(ish) murder mysteries set in Adelaide, Adventures of Viola Stewart series and Blood Ties – both darker Victorian steampunk mysteries, and Mrs Hudson Investigates – shorter Holmesian mysteries.
Karen can often be found plotting fantastical, piratical or airship adventures, and co-writing the occasional musical ditty.
She lives in Adelaide with her family and the ghost of her ancient Devon Rex. She’s always loved dark chocolate, rarely refuses a cup of tea, and isn’t keen on South Australian summers.
