Consider yourself a savant with the stylus, or do you have a certain way with words when it comes to fanfics? AVCon 2024 is bringing back several popular creative competitions that will test attendees’ skills with some super exciting prizes to be given out! Check out more information on these below!
Pre-Drawn Competition
This year, we’re looking to see your best piece of artwork (sketched traditionally on paper with pencil/paint or digitally on a tablet/PC) inspired by anime, manga, or video games. The theme of AVCon 2024 is ‘Sports Festival,’ so all art must incorporate the theme of ‘Sport’ in some way.
We want to see all your sports-themed fan art through our pre-drawn competition. All entrants will have their artwork showcased during the Festival! Winners of the General category will be announced at the AVCon Closing Ceremony on Sunday afternoon!

Fan Fiction Competition
Fan fiction is a form of creative writing where fans of a particular work of fiction, such as a book, movie, TV show, or video game, write their own stories based on the characters, settings, or plotlines of the original work. These stories can range from short vignettes to epic sagas. They can explore alternate universes, romantic pairings, or new adventures for beloved characters.
This year, we are celebrating all things fan fiction through our Fan Fiction Competition. Winners of the General category will be announced at the AVCon Closing Ceremony on Sunday afternoon!

AMV Competition
An AMV, or Anime Music Video, is a creative video montage made by fans using footage from anime series or movies set to music, typically songs or soundtracks. These videos often feature clips carefully selected to match the music’s rhythm, lyrics, or mood, creating a dynamic and visually engaging experience. AMVs can range from action-packed sequences showcasing epic battles to emotional montages highlighting character relationships or themes.
Our AMV competition is returning this year, and we’re so excited to see what our attendees create! All AMV applications will be showcased at the festival over the weekend at the Crunchyroll Anime Theatre! Winners of the General category will be announced at the AVCon Closing Ceremony on Sunday afternoon!
