Whether rocking a casual cosplay for a fun day out or going all out with a head-turning costume, cosplay is a chance to let your creativity shine and share your love for fandoms with fellow enthusiasts. It’s a big, awesome costume party where everyone’s invited to be whoever they want!
AVCon 2024 is bringing a dedicated Cosplay Corner to the festival floor. The Cosplay Corner is the hub for all things cosplay, including cosplay workshops, cosplay guest booths, cosplay photo walls, Captain Patch-it’s cosplay repair station, and cosplay displays! Cosplay Guests
This year, we’re bringing our largest lineup of cosplay guests ever! Our lovely cosplay guests will be running content all weekend long and have tables in the Cosplay Corner to buy merch and meet fans!

Cosplay Competitions
Gear up and get ready to compete at AVCon 2024’s Cosplay Competitions! AVCon runs several competitions over the weekend for under 15 and over 15 to face off in multiple divisions from Novice to Masters! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, our competitions are your chance to show off your skills and take home some serious prizes. It’s time to bring your favourite characters to life and show the crowd what you’re made of!

Cosplay Parade
Join us for the AVCon 2024 Cosplay Parade, which celebrates creativity and fandom without the pressure of competition. Everyone is welcome to join the parade and share their passion for cosplay! This is your chance to flaunt your fantastic cosplay, strut your stuff, and strike a pose for some awesome photos. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to showcase your cosplay at the Cosplay Parade.

Costume Repair with Captain Patch-It
Captain Patch-It is here to save the day! Or at least, to save your costumes and props…
For over a decade, Captain Patch-It has been roaming the Australian convention scene, providing free repairs for cosplayers and running Costume Repair areas to rescue attendees in need!
You’ll be able to find him and his minions manning Cosplay Repair with a wide array of tools and supplies to fix up any cosplay malfunctions. Come visit him with any mishaps or mayhem so he can help you get back to enjoying the rest of your weekend!
Cosplay Makeup Demonstrations with Elic Makeup and Mehron Makeup Australia
This year, we have teamed up with Mehron Makeup Australia, who are sponsoring AVCon 2024 to bring the best in SFX makeup and Prosthetics. We are proud to introduce Elic Makeup who will be demonstrating character makeup in Cosplay Corner over the weekend!
Elic is a makeup artist who specialises in both the gory and horrific and the glamorous and beautiful. They have been cosplaying since 2017 and have recently started competing in cosplay competitions, which allows them to express their creativity through colour and texture.
Elic loves to meet people who are just as excited to nerd out about cosplay and makeup as they are. They are thrilled to be sharing their knowledge and skills with the cosplay community in Adelaide. Pop past the booth to watch the magic happen and to have your questions about cosplay makeup answered!
