The AVCon weekend is full of different types of activities running all around the clock between our bigger events. Ranging from industry-led and community-led panels to free play areas to unwind in, AVCon has a little something for each person.

Fancy yourself a fighting game champion? Or have a deck that stomps anyone you verse? AVCon runs various tournaments over the weekend, from video games, tabletop games and trading card games. Our tournaments are open to all attendees, so pick your favourites and game on!

Panels and Workshops

Community-led and industry-led panels and workshops run all weekend long. From topics such as writing and publishing your first book or comic to making fancy cosplay props, there’s a panel to suit all kinds of interests. If you’re interested in hosting a panel or workshop, check out our Host a Panel web page for more information.

Ichigo Ke-Ki Café

Be our guest! Inspired by the maid cafés of Akihabara, Ichigo Ke-Ki Café (いちごケーキ) is AVCon’s premier otaku dining experience. Our cute and courteous wait staff are ready to entertain you, whether through their dance performances or by sitting down and playing a game. So, escape the hustle-bustle of the busy festival atmosphere and join us for a bite to eat. If you’re interested in helping out the café, check out our Volunteer web page for more information.

The Tabletop Area

Gather your friends or meet some new ones over a board game or two in our Tabletop area. The Tabletop area features our board game library, pre-set roleplaying adventures, miniature painting, card games, and tournaments.

The Games Area

Celebrate video games in our Games Area – packed full of retro gaming, the Indie Games Room, retro gaming, speedruns, tournaments, free-play, VR, handheld lounge and a range of various gaming shows on our stages.
