The Panorama Ballroom will once again be hosting a massive tabletop gaming area, for all of your cardboard related activities. Sign up for a board game tournament, borrow a game from our collection to play with your friends, challenge all comers in your favourite card game, or join an RPG session run by one of our friendly volunteers.
Come on in and borrow a game from the library to play with your friends in our free Indie Board Games Room. We have a big selection, with all your favourite games and a bunch of others you may have never seen before. If you’re interested in trying out a new game but aren’t sure how to play, ask one of our volunteers and they’ll help you figure out the rules and find opponents.
On top of this, we will also be running tournaments for some of your favourite board games and learn-to-play sessions for anybody who’s interested in sitting down and learning about a new game.
Role Playing Games
A role-playing game (RPG) is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting or through a process of structured decision-making or character development. Actions taken within many games succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines.
Ok get ready to roll for initiative!
Showcasing the following systems
· Dungeons and Dragons 5th Ed (Adventurer’s League & Homebrew)
· Shadow Run 5th Ed
· Dark Heresy
· World of Darkness
· Legend of 5 Rings RPG

· Bloody Quest
· Starfinder Society
You’ll find something to peak your interest in the RPG area.
So whether you are an RPG veteran or have never played before; bring your strength, cunning and charisma and sign up for some games in the panorama ballroom.
Indie Board Games
Love playing tabletop games, or just want to support local creators?
The Indie Tabletop Games Area contains Australian game designers and publishers running demos of finished and prototype games.
Learn how to play released games like Blood on the Clocktower or Luminous Ages before you buy a copy. Or play prototypes for games such as Me-MO Island, Nova League, Beard Barons and Gnomes Come Home with local games designers from the ThinkTank game design group.
There’s so much to see at AVCon that sometimes you just want to sit and smile. Take a load off your cosplay for an hour or so, and join us up in Tabletop! We’ve got a library of good games for you to choose from. Grab some friends and join us for some fun! Aside from the casual play, we’ll have scheduled tournaments.
The Gundam Club Australia is a locally based club established in 2013. Over the past 5 years, the club has grown to over 2500 members with more joining each day.
The club caters to all levels of modellers, from those who are just beginning to those entering competitions. We are a non for profit organisation who have a very strong passion for the hobby.
Feel free to come and say hi to us at the tabletop gaming area, where we will have plenty of kits on display, a large group diorama and a free workshop where you can build and take home your very own Gundam kit.
