What is AVCon?
AVCon is Australia’s premier anime and gaming festival and one of the largest events of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Held annually, AVCon celebrates Japanese animation, video gaming, tabletop gaming, game development, artists, technology, and cosplay.
Organised by Team AVCon Incorporated, a not-for-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization, AVCon is dedicated to enriching the community through anime- and gaming-focused events. Alongside AVCon, Team AVCon Incorporated hosts various other events throughout the year for professionals, hobbyists, and the general public, ensuring accessibility and enjoyment for all skill levels.
As a not-for-profit, all proceeds are reinvested into improving AVCon year after year. We focus on promoting local talent, growing the creative community, and offering South Australia a world-class pop culture experience that is their own.
AVCon is held at the Adelaide Showground, which is a large and modern venue and one of the largest under-cover exhibition spaces in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2025, AVCon will utilise both the Jubilee and Wayville Pavilions providing over 16,000 m2 of event space.
With a legacy spanning 22 years, AVCon has established itself as a cornerstone of Australian pop culture, earning respect nationwide across multiple industries and communities.
About Inktaku Alley
InkTaku Alley is a dedicated space on the AVCon showfloor featuring an extraordinary lineup of skilled artists from Adelaide and across Australia performing live tattooing! Fusing pop-culture, anime, gaming and tattoo artistry – the Inktaku Alley has been an attendee favourite since 2023 offering flash tattoo pieces all weekend long!
In 2025, AVCon will be taking place at the Adelaide Showground on:
- Saturday, July 5th & Sunday, July 6th, 2025
- 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (both days)
- Tattooists can also exhibit at AVCon After Dark, an 18+ event on Saturday, July 5th, from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
AVCon After Dark
AVCon After Dark will take place on Saturday, July 5th, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. During this 18+ event, artists are allowed to offer tattoos or sell art of an explicit nature (or continue to tattoo their usual offerings).
- Participation is optional for accepted Inktaku Alley applicants.
- Artists and Studios opting in must have their space open during the event.
- A $50 fee for individuals and a $100 fee for studios (inclusive of GST) (inclusive of GST) applies for participation.
- Non-participating artists and studios will have their space sectioned off and watched by security.
- Failure to open your space during After Dark after opting in without a valid reason may result in exclusion from future Team AVCon Inc. events.
- The setup of the Inktaku Alley and positioning of spaces will be based on the successful applicant’s participation in After Dark.
Inktaku Alley Packages
Single Artist Space – $500 (inclusive of GST)
For AVCon 2025’s Inktaku Alley, the following space is available for individual tattoo artists:
- Size: 2.4m wide x 3m deep
- Designed for: One artist to display artwork, set up a tattooing station, and perform tattooing services on one client at a time.
- Includes: Electricity, Sharps disposal container, Access to shared medical waste bins, Access to shared hand washing stations, 2x AVCon 2025 Exhibitor Badges
Additional Notes:
- Artists must provide their own tattoo table/chair, lighting, and all other necessary equipment.
- Artists are responsible for transporting and setting up their equipment during designated bump-in/out times.
- Space Use: Each artist may apply for only one space. The applicant is the only person permitted to use the space.
- Add-On Option: A backing wall can be purchased separately to display banners or artwork. There are no physical barriers between spaces otherwise.
Add-Ons That Can Be Purchased With the Single Artist Space
Add-ons can be added or modified after submission.
All pricing is inclusive of GST.

- 1x 180cm x 76cm Trestle Table ($30)

- Test and Tag ($5 per item, to be invoiced after the event)
Studio Space – $1000 per 3m x 3m (inclusive of GST)
For AVCon 2025’s Inktaku Alley, the following space is available for tattoo studios:
- Size: 3m wide x 3m deep
- Designed for: Multiple artists to display artwork, set up tattooing stations, and perform tattooing services on multiple clients at a time.
- Includes: Electricity, Sharps disposal container, Access to shared medical waste bins, Access to shared hand washing stations, AVCon 2025 Exhibitor Badges for each registered artist under the studio
Studio Space Guidelines:
- Studios may apply for multiple spaces based on the number of artists they wish to have operating simultaneously.
- Studios may have different registered artists working at different times throughout the weekend.
- Equipment & Setup: Studios must ensure they purchase enough space for all artists tattooing at the same time. Equipment must be laid out safely and effectively to maintain a hygienic and professional work environment.
- Add-On Option: A backing wall can be purchased separately to display banners or artwork. There are no physical barriers between spaces otherwise.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to participate in the Inktaku Alley at AVCon, the applicant must:
- All artists wishing to attend must have a minimum of one year of experience tattooing in a commercial setting.
- All studios wishing to attend must have been in operation and offering commercial tattooing services to the public for at least one year.
- If you are applying as an individual artist, you must have notified SA CBS (Consumer and Business Services) and provide their TAT number (or an interstate equivalent).
- If you are applying as a tattoo studio, you must have notified SA CBS (Consumer and Business Services) and must provide the TAT number of the studio as well as the TAT numbers of all artists applying under the studio.
- Be able to travel to and from the event with all required equipment at their own expense, including transportation, equipment, storage, and accommodation costs.
- Be able to supervise and manage their Allocated Space during all hours AVCon is open, including After Dark if selected.
- Be in good standing within the tattoo community and at other events nationwide.
Apply
- Deadline: Applications close on June 20th, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
- Applications are reviewed and accepted as they are received, so artists and studios are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Spaces at AVCon are limited, and meeting all criteria does not guarantee acceptance. This is not a reflection of your studio or talent, or an indication of any opinions held by Team AVCon Inc. Team AVCon Inc.’s selection decisions are final. Unsuccessful applicants may be placed on a waiting list and offered a spot if vacancies arise.
- Please read through all instructions and questions very carefully and to the best of your ability before submitting application. Only one application per artist or studio will be accepted. Multiple applications may be detrimental to your bid to tattoo at AVCon 2025.
- Emails will be sent out to the email address provided in the application. Information regarding bump in/out times and other instructions will follow.
- If accepted, you must notify SA CBS (Consumer and Business Services) that you (or your studio and all registered artists) will be performing tattooing services at AVCon Anime & Gaming Festival 2025.
