Team AVCon strives to provide you with all the information you need to help make the day as entertaining and exciting as possible. The festival is rated PG for Parental Guidance, however some rooms and areas will contain material of a higher rating. These areas will be clearly marked for your guidance and proof of age is required.
FREE ENTRY FOR CHILDREN. Entry for children aged 10 and under is free. Standard ticket prices apply for all ages 11 and above. AVCon does not offer concession prices.
Children are to be supervised at all times. AVCon makes every attempt to create a safe and secure environment, and this will be ensured if everyone works together to prioritise this.
Kids & Family Area
Younger children will be safe from more mature games in this area of the festival. With family friendly video games and activities, there’s no better place at our event for your children to have an AVCON experience that’s tailored to suit their needs.
Sit back and let your kids choose from a large range of games from board games through to Super Mario Bros or take part in colouring and art and craft activities with our dedicated staff and volunteers (all of whom have police checks) You can have a well-deserved break, away from the hustle and bustle of the main festival rooms. Note: Children should not be left in the Kids/Family area without a parent or guardian present.
Make sure you pick up your Kids & Family flyer with your kids tickets. It details all completion and events scheduled for the weekend. For any queries relating to Kids/Family are please contact [email protected]
MA15+ is a legally restricted classification. Attendees must be able to prove their age with valid identification as being 15 or over to participate in MA15+ rated gaming tournaments or enter MA15+ areas or screenings of the festival. Participants under 15 years of age are permitted only when they are accompanied by their parent or guardian. The guardian must be an adult exercising parental control over the person under 15 years of age. The guardian must be 18 years or older. An older sibling or friend would not generally satisfy this requirement, whereas a grandparent, aunt or uncle may. This is a legal requirement under Australian classification law and is not negotiable.
AVCon is held each year at the Adelaide Convention Centre; conveniently located in the heart of the city centre and nestled within the beauty of the Riverbank Precinct, surrounded by parklands and the River Torrens. Within proximity to the medical hub, entertainment, cultural and sport precinct, it is a short walk to international and boutique hotels and accommodation.
Getting there is a cinch with public transport, the Adelaide Railway Station and a taxi ramp on the doorstep. The international airport is just seven kilometres from the venue, making a quick and economic taxi ride.
The renovated space and continued extension means that AVCon is continuing to grow and deliver more exciting activities for our attendees.
