Volunteers & Staff
The invaders are AVCon’s team of awesome dedicated volunteers who make the convention run. Without them AVCon couldn’t exist and as such, they are the public face, and working backbone of the event.
AVCon relies on it’s wonderful volunteers each year to ensure our event runs smoothly. One of the most important volunteer faction is our photographers.
Volunteer photographers will document everything over the weekend, from the guest Photo Booth to the Gaming Hall. They will work with our lovely guests and photograph all our events on the main stage while also photographing the festival and it’s attendees.
AVCon is looking for a variety of performers to be a part of our opening and closing ceremonies to begin and conclude the AVCon Festival weekend.
AVCon is looking for well-presented, charismatic people to host AVCon events. AVCon hosts mediate, talk to audience members, interact with guests and competition entrants.
We’re looking for people with bright and bubbly personalities, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to dance and perform to join our team.
Competitions & Attractions
South Australia’s largest Cosplay Competition showcases the very best local talent. Entrants are judged on craftsmanship, character accuracy/creativity, attention to detail, stage presence. Or enter as a skit and bring your cosplay to life.
AVCon will be playing host to the Lolita and J-fashion Parade again in 2018, featuring an amazing showcase of elegant dresses worn by the Lolita community. Applications are open
The AVCon community is full of hundreds of amazingly talented and creative people, one of the ways we like to encourage this talent is through our Art Competition.
One of the best places to teach and learn about anime, gaming, cosplay or Japanese culture is at an AVCon panel. Applications for 2018 are now closed but if you feel you have something you can share start planning for next year!
Speedrunners from all over Australia participate in our Speedrunning exhibition, which has been running since 2013. We are opening up this event to all who wish to participate.
