Supervision

Minors under twelve will need a supervising parent or guardian at all times during the weekend.

Kids and Family Area

Our Kids and Family area is full of family-friendly games and activities that will occupy the kids.

Our dedicated volunteers and staff will be running arts and crafts and games. All staff and volunteers are required to pass police checks before working with AVCon.

You can have a well-deserved break, away from the hustle and bustle of the main festival rooms. Please note a parent or guardian needs to be present in the Kids and Family Area while your kids are present.

General Festival Information

MA15+ Ratings

AVCon will mark areas such as gaming areas, screenings, and panels that are classified as MA 15+. All attendees are required to provide valid identification to enter a MA 15+ area. Attendees under 15 years of age are only permitted with a parent or guardian present. AVCon classifies a “guardian” as an adult exercising “parental control” over a person under 15 years of age. The guardian must be 18 years or older. An older sibling or friend would not generally satisfy this requirement, whereas a grandparent, aunt or uncle may. This rule is a legal requirement under Australian classification law and is not negotiable.

Are prams/strollers permitted?

Prams/strollers are permitted in all areas of the festival, including the Exhibitor’s Hall. For areas that have walkways, prams cannot block aisles or exits to abide by WHS policies.

Are there baby change facilities?

Information regarding baby change facilities will be provided closer to the date.
