About Team AVCon
Our team here at Team AVCon have kept to our roots since 2002 and remains 100% volunteer-run. From our Elect down to our Invaders – Team AVCon consists of passionate people who are excited to bring some fandom fun to South Australia.
The Elect
Team AVCon is organised by an elected team, managing and working within the organising Committee. Every year, the elected members are voted in by the Team AVCon Incorporated Membership.

The Committee

Team AVCon sounds cool! How can I get involved?
Every year, once the new Elect have been elected, our team work out the core departments that are needed to run the AVCon Festival. Applications for the 2024-2025 Committee are currently open – check out our Recruitment web page to see all open opportunities!

Volunteer
Team AVCon runs events throughout the year and collaborates with the broader community and sponsors in addition to the AVCon Festival. With more events happening throughout the year, there are more opportunities for people with different levels of experience and interests to help shape AVCon in their own way. Team AVCon values the uniqueness of our team and understands that when unique people work together, we can deliver extraordinary results.
AVCon enlists the help of over 400 volunteers to assist the Elect and Committee with the delivery of AVCon’s events, including the AVCon Festival. Volunteers range in age from 16 to 60 and help out in various activities to ensure our attendees have a fantastic experience. From assisting guests in setting up card games to working the ticketing booths, there are various roles for you to take on.
Membership
The AVCon membership consists of past and present volunteers who have shown their dedication to making AVCon a success. The members of Team AVCon Incorporated have a great interest in anime, video games and Japanese culture. This interest drives them to make AVCon the best it can be and ensures that AVCon remains a festival for the fans.
The Team AVCon membership meets quarterly and annually to discuss and make decisions regarding all things AVCon.
Membership requires all members to have volunteered for an event in a previous year or be on the active standing Committee. If you’re interested in becoming a member, we recommend checking out our Volunteer page and seeing how you can volunteer at future events. Successful applicants will require a recommendation from an existing member of the Team AVCon Elect, Committee Coordinator Lead, or staff under a Committee Coordinator Lead.
